Change member roles

There are three types of user roles available in the platform. Administrator, Member and Read-only. The person who creates the team will be the Owner. You can read more about user roles in the user roles section.


Only an administrator or owner of a team can edit user roles!

If you are an owner or administrator of a team, you can edit user role for any members, including yourself. Also note that, the owner of a team cannot be changed! We may bring feature to transfer ownership or assign multiple owners to a team in the future. If you badly need this feature, please get in touch with us!

How can I change the role of a team member?

You can change the user role of a member in the team from the members page.

⚡ Change user role from members page

  • Click on the Members link from the left navigation menu. You will be redirected to the corresponding page. Members navigation link
  • All the members of the team will be displayed here. Click on the Edit button (as pictured below) of the member, you wish to edit. Edit member role button
  • A modal will be opened, choose the new role from the list and click on Save button. The member role will be changed immediately. Update member role modal

Is it possible to change the role of an owner?

No, it is not possible to change the owner of a team at the moment. Also note that, the owner of the team will not be shown in the member list page, but will be shown in the Team Settings page, under the team information.
