What is time to live (TTL)?
It's important to consider the TTL when using short URLs, especially for time-sensitive links or campaigns!
It is important to ensure that the short URL remains active for the intended duration only. Additionally, if a short URL is no longer needed or has reached the end of its TTL, it's advisable to remove it to prevent unintended access in the future.
In the context of a short URL, "time to live" (TTL) refers to the lifespan or expiration period of the short URL. It determines how long the short URL will remain functional and redirect to the intended original URL.
When a short URL is created, a TTL value can be set to define the duration for which the short URL will be valid. Once the TTL period expires, the short URL may no longer redirect to the original URL, effectively rendering it inactive.
The TTL for a short URL can be set based on various factors, such as the intended usage duration, the campaign or promotional period, or the temporary nature of the linked resource.
