Privacy and security - Fynlink Docs

Privacy and security are an integral part of Fynlink. We have many unique privacy features, and some of them are integrated at the team level.

Make sure the team you wish to change settings is the current active one!

Always make sure you are changing the settings of the right team by checking the left navigation menu, active team button. If you would like to change settings for a different team, make sure to switch to that team first.

How can I change the default privacy & security settings of a team?

These options make it easy to create new links with the desired privacy & security features. If you are an administrator or owner of the team, you can change the privacy & security settings from the settings page found in the left navigation menu.

Always make sure the desired team is selected by default by checking the teams selector in the left navigation menu.
Click on the Settings link from the left side navigation menu.
You will be redirected to the corresponding team settings page. From the Privacy & Security section, make the necessary changes and click on Save button.

⚡ Safe mode

Enable this option if you need the user to show a link preview every time they click on a short link. You can always override this option in Advanced Settings while creating a short link. You can learn more about safe mode here.

⚡ Private link

Creating a short url as private will only show the actual short url once, after creation!

Private links are encrypted and the short url generated will only be shown once. You will not be able to see / search for the short link or target link. The short link works as normal & all analytics associated with a normal link will be available. Use it for generating any sensitive links.

Enable this option if you need all the new short links created to be private. You can always override this option in Advanced Settings while creating a short link.

⚡ Disable analytics

Enable this option, if you do not want to track or see analytics of all future links created in the team. You can always override this option in Advanced Settings while creating a short link.

Can any members change the privacy & security settings of a team?

Only an administrator or owner can change the privacy & security settings of a team!

If you are an owner or administrator of a team, you are allowed to change the default privacy & security settings! However, any user having rights to create a short link can alter these settings on the fly while creating a short link.

Is it possible to change the `safe mode` settings while creating a link after setting a default value in team settings?

Yes, it is possible to change safe mode on the fly while creating links. This can be done by changing the toggle in Advanced Settings while creating a new link.

Is it possible to change the `Private link` settings while creating a link after setting a default value in team settings?

Yes, it is possible to change Private link on the fly while creating links. This can be done by changing the toggle in Advanced Settings while creating a new link.
